Summary:
Based on the first of the bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and using elements from the second, this book brings Greg Heffley and his friends to life.  It follows Greg through his first year of middle school as he worries about finding a seat in the cafeteria, and schemes to become the most popular kid in school.  Through wrestling, safety patrol and Halloween bullies, Greg learns what it means to be a friend and redeems himself by taking the dreaded “Cheese touch” away from his best friend Rowley.

Review:
I have been a big fan of this book series since the beginning, but shied away from the movie initially.  I am pleased to say that it was a delightful film that captured the characters and the story extremely well.  Greg in the books has concerned me a little because of his relentless shallowness and self-absorption, but the movie managed to redeem him into a truly likeable kid.
