Summary:     

A (mostly) wordless retelling of the classic fable, in which a lion permits his small prey to go free only to have the mouse become his unlikely rescuer in the end. 

Review:

Pinkney adds to the original tale with a whole family of babies who hear the amazing story from the hero himself.  While the illustrations are magnificent, I missed some of the elements of the original tale that were too difficult to portray wordlessly.
